A memorial award and scholarship distribution ceremony was held on 29th August,2025 at 12.30 pm in the Guna Gobinda Dutta Auditorium of Jagannath Barooah University .The awards and scholarship were presented in the gracious presence of Dr. Jyoti Prasad Saikia, VC, Jagannath Barooah University, chief guest of the programme, Dr.Jiten Hazarika , Vice Chancellor , Dibrugarh University, Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta , Registrar, Jagannath Barooah University and the Deans of the six faculties of Jagannath Barooah University respectively, Dr. Surajit Sharma(Academic Affairs), Dr. Jibon Saikia(R&D), Sri Subhasish Sarmah (Student Affairs), Dr. Minakshi P.Hazarika(Social Science & Humanities), Sri Porag Sarmah(Commerce), Dr. Gautam Kalita(Science &Technology) in the dais .The awards were presented to various students graduated with outstanding academic performance from Jagannath Barooah University in the year 2025. The name of the awards and awardees are respectively- Nupur Saikia (Anil Chandra Baruah Memorial Award for Best Graduate),Nupur Saikia(Bani Khound Memorial Award for Best Graduate among females), Sibangee Dutta(Rajendra Nath Baruah Memorial Award for highest marks in Economics major),Tuhin Bhagawati (Rajendra Nath Baruah Memorial Award for highest marks in Political Science Major), Ayana Sakalya(Rajendra Nath Baruah Memorial Award for highest marks in Assamese Major), Nupur Saikia (Manik Lal Phookan Memorial Award for highest marks in B.Sc majors),Trishita Goswami(Manik Lal Phookan Memorial Award for highest marks in Geography Major) Tuhin Bhagawati(Joy Chandra Bora Memorial Award for highest marks in Pol Science major), Monisha Kalita (Tulsi Narayan Sarma Award for highest marks in Sanskrit Major ). Bani Khound Memorial Award for Best Graduate among females for the years 2022,2023, 2024 were also presented in the same meeting and the awardees are consecutively, Mehak Sharma, Barasha Gogoi, Baishali Borah. Beside these awards, two scholarships are also presented to two newly admitted students of Jagannath Barooah University. They are Prerana Borah (Phanidhar Datta Memorial Scholarship) and Dipangkar Das(Tilok Chand Maheswari Memorial Scholarship).
The entire programme was coordinated by the Memorial Trust Award Committee, Jagannath Barooah University and anchored by Dr. Swapna Borah.
