The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great solemnity and patriotic fervour at the university campus on 26 January. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the university fraternity, reflecting collective respect for the constitutional values of the nation.

The celebration began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jyoti Prasad Saikia, in the presence of the Registrar, Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta. The occasion was also attended by all Deans, faculty members, non-teaching staff, students, and NCC cadets of the university.

On this auspicious occasion, the Vice Chancellor extended his warm greetings to all present and highlighted the significance of Republic Day in upholding the ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution of India.

Following the flag unfurling ceremony, the entire gathering solemnly rendered “Vande Mataram”, marking 150 years of the song, thereby paying tribute to the spirit of nationalism and unity.

As part of the celebrations, the best NCC cadets of the university were felicitated for their outstanding achievements and participation in various national-level camps.

The entire programme was conducted and coordinated by Capt. Sandeep Sankar Regan, Associate NCC Officer, who ensured the smooth execution of all events, including the flag unfurling ceremony, the rendering of Vande Mataram, and the felicitation of cadets.

The celebration concluded on a note of pride and renewed commitment towards serving the nation, reinforcing the university’s role in nurturing disciplined, responsible, and patriotic citizens.
