The Placement Cell of Jagannath Barooah University organized an Awareness Programme on Banking Services Examination on 30 April 2026 with the objective of guiding students about career opportunities in the banking sector and strategies for preparing for competitive banking examinations.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Surajit Sharma, Academic Registrar of Jagannath Barooah University, who emphasized the importance of employment-oriented education and highlighted the significance of industry-academia collaboration in enhancing students’ career prospects. In his inaugural address, he warmly welcomed the representatives from State Bank of India and expressed gratitude for their support in conducting the programme.
The invited Resource Person, Mr. Jagadish Paul, Manager at State Bank of India delivered a comprehensive presentation on the opportunities and benefits associated with a career in the banking sector. He provided valuable insights into the structure and pattern of banking services examinations and offered practical guidance on effective preparation strategies, study resources, and time management techniques.
The programme was further enriched by the participation of Mr. Abhilash Kashyap Chetia and Mr. Ujjal Borah, both Managers at State Bank of India and proud alumni of Jagannath Barooah University. Sharing their personal journeys and professional experiences, they inspired students to pursue careers in banking and motivated them to prepare with dedication and confidence.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 80 students from different departments of the University. The interactive session enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding eligibility criteria, examination patterns, and career advancement opportunities in the banking sector.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ashrafuzzaman Chowdhury, Coordinator of the Placement Cell, who expressed sincere appreciation to the resource persons from State Bank of India, the university administration, and the students for making the event highly informative and successful.
