Parents-Teachers Meeting

The Department of Chemistry, Jagannath Barooah University organized a Parents-Teachers Meeting on 05/06/2026 from 1:30 pm to inform parents about the attendance, performance, and progress of their respective wards especially if a student is underperforming.
The program began with the inaugural address by Mrs. Akhtara Hussain Kalita who welcomed the parents and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between teachers and guardians in shaping students’ academic and personal development.
This was followed by speeches delivered by Dr. Bhupen Baruah and Dr. Gautam Kalita, who highlighted key academic aspects such as attendance requirements, internal assessment, and the overall performance of students. They also stressed the importance of maintaining regular communication between parents and the department.
An interactive session was then conducted, where parents and guardians actively shared their views, concerns, and suggestions. The interactive session shed light on continuous communication between teachers and parents for better monitoring of students. They also sought clarification regarding the four-year FYUGP course structure, and the faculty members provided detailed guidance on the same. The faculty explained the difference between the three-year degree course and the four-year honors programme. Further, Dr. Anirban Garg addressed the gathering and spoke about various fellowship opportunities available at the national level. He encouraged students to prepare for higher studies and aim for admission to reputed national institutions. The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Jayashree Nath.
